Meeting Minutes – October 26, 2008
Board Members Present: Kris Hoberg, Tracy Kessler, Joe Bertsch, Dave Nelson, Kelly Steinwand, Dave Pipes, Chris Fellerman
Financial Update
Dave N updated that we have paid for all tournaments except state MYSA. We still have to pay for gym time, which we do in two payments. We still need to collect registrations and/or volunteer check from a few players. Kelly and Kris will help in making the calls.
Tryouts
Joe updated board with regard to the recent coach’s clinic/meeting. Coach Grad led the meeting and it was well attended by coaches. Several positive comments were made to Joe. All agreed these types of meetings should continue.
Uniforms, Equipment, Pictures
Chris F indicated that the uniforms are on schedule to be delivered next week (prior to pictures). Pictures are scheduled for Nov 6 with Clix Photography. Picture information is posted on the website. We had a discussion on coach’s apparel and what we are able to fund. We decided to offer shirts that cost $25 for head coaches and one assistant or coaches will have an option to upgrade and pay $15 for a jacket. Email will go out to all coaches.
Team Practice Schedules:
Practices schedules have been scheduled through the end of December.
Tournaments
Began discussion regarding our holiday tournament scheduled for Jan 9-11. We are starting to get outside teams registered, but still need to recruit more organizations to come to our tournament. Some grades are better represented than others. Committee will be formed for: Volunteers, Concessions, Brackets, and Awards/Trophies.
Fundraising Opportunities
Discussion on whether we want to do another fundraiser. Possibilities: Child Feed, sponsored by Lions Club, Discounts at local restaurants’, hosting another tournament. Will continue to explore options and discuss again at next meeting.
